This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale presents the T-55 tank in its 1958 version fitted with the BTU-55 engineer dozer blade. The package holds sprues of gray plastic, the hull with its hemispherical turret, the running gear and the parts of the dozer blade with a depth regulator. Decals and assembly instructions are enclosed.
The T-55 is a Soviet medium tank whose production began at the end of the 1950s. It stands out for its low compact hull and its hemispherical turret. The BTU-55 blade was fitted to tanks of the T-54 and T-55 series and served for earthworks and for clearing obstacles; the regulator at the front stopped the blade from digging in too deeply. The T-55 with this equipment was used by a number of armies, Finland among them.
First finish the running gear and the lower hull, then attach the blade. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement, treat the surface with a base coat and paint with an airbrush. Bring out the tracks, the chassis and the blade with washes and pigments for dust and mud effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
