A plastic kit in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Tamiya that captures a scene from the German army of the Second World War: a solo motorcycle, two figures and a signpost with direction boards. One figure represents a military traffic controller pointing the way, the other a rider on the motorcycle with a map spread out. It is therefore a small diorama scene rather than a combat vehicle, an ideal way to bring a larger setting with German vehicles to life.
Motorcycle orderlies and traffic control played a key role in the armies of the Second World War in passing orders on and in directing the movement of columns. Motorcycles of this type served couriers and the military police alike; direction boards and traffic controllers were a normal part of rear-area and front-line roads. The subject of the machine is the light German army motorcycle of the era.
It pays to paint the small parts of the motorcycle (frame, engine, exhaust, panniers) while they are still on the sprue. The figures come to life with uniform shades, worked out faces and fine washes into the folds of the cloth. The direction boards on the signpost can be made following the motifs in the instructions; the whole thing shows to advantage on a small base with the texture of a road.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
