This injection-molded plastic set from the Ukrainian maker ICM captures the Soviet Maxim heavy machine gun of the 1910/30 pattern on its typical wheeled mount (the Sokolov mount) in 1:35 scale. It is not a large vehicle model but a detailed set of the weapon, which can be added to figures or set into a diorama.
The Maxim was one of the most widely used heavy machine guns of the Russian and Soviet armies. The 1910/30 pattern was based on Hiram Maxim's original design, used a 7.62 mm cartridge and had a water-filled barrel cooling jacket. It stayed in service through both world wars.
The parts are small, so separate them from the sprues carefully and clean up the sprue gates. The model can be built in the firing as well as the transport position. Pick the metal parts out with a dark wash, underpaint the wooden elements of the mount and finish with a fine dry brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
