1:35 German soldier WWI N°2 is a single resin figure of a German soldier of the First World War in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A standalone figure in resin, the second in the numbered line of German figures from Black Dog. It is bought one piece at a time, so a builder can put together his own cast for a scene according to what the view is missing. Small castings of this kind are often used as a living element beside period hardware that would otherwise look static in a display case.
German field equipment shifted during the war from darker cloth uniforms to the gray-green field shade known as Feldgrau. From 1916 onward the steel helmet with a deep section protecting the nape and the temples spread, and it changed the period silhouette most of all. Leather parts of the equipment were usually blackened, while canvas items were light and quickly soiled.
Do not mix field gray as one flat shade. Choose a rather muted base, bring the hollows out with a dark glaze and brighten the edges with a dry brush so that the cut shows. Blackened leather looks livelier when a very dark gray with a hint of gloss only on the bends is used instead of pure black. Build the skin of the face in thin coats, blend the transitions and emphasize the features only at the end.
