Why it pays to add a figure to a model
A tank model has no way of telling the viewer how big it is. A human figure beside the hull or in a hatch is the quickest way to convey scale, and at the same time it moves the whole scene from a machine on display to a situation.
The winter coat was part of the ordinary kit of German tank crews and crew officers in the cold season of the Second World War. It was worn over the service uniform and on a figure it is recognizable by its long cut, prominent lapels and belt. It is the long coat that gives the figure a distinctive silhouette, different at a glance from the summer uniform.
Wash the figures in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap before painting and let them dry out properly, so that the paint holds well. Lightly sand down the parting lines and the leftovers from the mold. Choose the glue to suit the material of the casting: cyanoacrylate glue for resin parts, classic cement for plastic parts.
Work from the primer through the base color of the coat to the shadows and the highlighted edges. The folds of a long coat take stronger shading than a smooth uniform. Leave the face and hands until the end and paint them in a greater number of thin coats. A matte varnish at the finish will help to unify the surface.
The set is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue, a base and a vehicle are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
