A resin detail set in 1:35 scale from the firm PANZER ART representing the barrel of the Soviet D-25T gun with a cast-on canvas protective cover, for the IS-2 and IS-3 heavy tanks (JS-2/3). It is not a model of the tank but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic barrel with a realistic part with a covered muzzle end.
The IS-2 and the IS-3 were Soviet heavy tanks of the close of the Second World War, armed with the 122 mm D-25T gun. Canvas covers over the muzzle end protected the bore of the barrel from dirt in field conditions.
Wash the resin parts free of the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and clean them up (with respiratory protection). They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Spray a primer on before painting; the fabric folds of the cover stand out once a darker shade and a fine wash have been applied.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. A corresponding base kit of the IS-2 or IS-3 tank is needed to use it.
