The KamAZ 4310 is a Soviet three-axle off-road truck with all-wheel drive which from the turn of the 1970s and 1980s served the army as well as civilian enterprises and became one of the most common heavy vehicles of the Eastern bloc. The cab sits above the engine and has large windows, so on a finished model you can see well into it and an empty or roughly painted interior is noticed at once.
Color interior elements produced by three-dimensional printing. They are printed on a carrier decal paper: the part is cut from the sheet, left in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid off the paper into place, and no decal softener is used with it. The surface has a raised relief, so the instrument panel and the other panels have a depth that a flat print cannot offer, and painting small dial faces with a brush is no longer necessary. The extent of the set and the placement of the elements in the cab are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Clear the surface under the element of dust, level it, degrease it and go over it with a gloss clear coat of the Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22 type, because the element has no adhesive layer of its own. Slide the soaked element off the paper with tweezers or the tip of a knife, adjust the position while it can still be moved, and then press it down with a soft tool from the center toward the edges; on a detailed shape a drop of cyanoacrylate glue will help. Once glued, the element can no longer be moved. Finish the cab before you close it up, because afterwards you will get inside only with difficulty.
The set suits builders of military equipment in 1:35 scale who want the interior finished quickly and evenly. The model of the vehicle, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
