Replacement wheels for the Willys in 1:35, in the underinflated form with bulged sidewalls and a contact patch. An accessory for the plastic kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The light Willys off-road car is among the best known machines of the Second World War, and its wheels are visible from every side on a model. On the real vehicle the tire pressure was routinely lowered: a deflated wheel rests on the ground over a larger area in sand, mud or snow and grips better. The tire changes visibly in the process. The sidewalls bulge outwards, the tread opens up where it meets the ground and the bottom of the wheel flattens, so the vehicle no longer stands on a line but on a patch.
The set brings wheels in 1:35 in exactly this underinflated form. They replace the wheels from the kit, which are as a rule perfectly round, and give the vehicle weight: the model stops looking as though it were barely touching the base.
Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the rest away, but do not touch the contact patches with abrasive paper, or you will lose the flattening. Wash and degrease the parts before painting and choose the glue according to the material; cyanoacrylate will serve universally. When gluing, turn the patch toward the ground and check that the wheel really stands on the whole of it; on a slope align it with the fall of the terrain. Do not paint the rubber black but a grayed dark color, and dust the bottom of the wheel with the shade of the terrain the vehicle has driven over.
For builders of off-road vehicles in 1:35 who want wheels that sit under their own weight. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
