Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet KV-1 heavy tank in its early production version of 1941, scale 1:35, from Tamiya. The tooling is completely new and does not carry parts over from older kits. The model faithfully captures the early production features: a welded turret and early road wheels. The surface reproduces the rough texture of Soviet plate and of the cast areas together with the weld beads. The driver's hatch, the transmission hatch and the stowage boxes on the fenders can be built open or closed. Check the exact contents of the box against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The KV-1 was an important Soviet heavy tank developed in parallel with the T-34 medium tank. In 1941 its heavy armor withstood most of the German antitank weapons of the day and the machine became an unpleasant surprise for the attacking Wehrmacht. It carried a 76.2 mm gun and, despite its great weight and demanding handling, it stayed in combat into the later years of the war, when newer types gradually supplemented and replaced it.
The model has link-and-length tracks with one-piece straight runs, which faithfully reproduce the sag of the upper run. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Let the rough texture of the armor come out with a thin wash and drybrushing on the edges. Soviet tanks can take heavier weathering: mud, dust and paint chipping. The box holds two marking options and a half-figure of a commander, which brings the open turret hatch to life.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
