An injection-molded plastic set of figures in 1:35 scale from the range devoted to the Second World War, from Master Box. The set captures members of the British Long Range Desert Group (LRDG), the long-range desert patrols, in North Africa. It is intended to be assembled and painted; it is not a model of a vehicle but a set of characters for dioramas and display-case scenes.
The Long Range Desert Group was a British unit founded in 1940 in Egypt for long-range reconnaissance and raiding operations behind enemy lines. Its members operated in a harsh desert environment, often in light, unconventional clothing with headgear against the sun and the sand. The set is a rewarding subject for desert dioramas with British and African themes.
This is an injection-molded plastic set to be assembled and painted. Separate the parts from the sprue with sharp side nippers and glue them with thin cement for plastic applied with a brush, which draws the joints together nicely. Before painting it pays to spray on a basic primer so that the paint holds better. The faces and the uniforms stand out after painting with a subtle emphasis by a wash and a dry brush; an airbrush as well as a classic brush suits. The characters can be used together as a scene or separately in a diorama.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
