A set of replacement tracks in white metal for building a model of the American amphibious tracked equipment of the LVT series in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of the vehicle but an accessory: the individual metal links are threaded onto wire and create a workable track that will replace the rubber or plastic tracks from the original kit.
The LVT (an amphibious tracked vehicle, known as the Amtrac) served American units in the landing operations in the Pacific during the Second World War. The characteristic paddle-type track links drive the vehicle on land and in water alike, which was crucial for crossing coastal reefs and lagoons.
Clean the links of flash and join them with wire so that the track stays workable. Apply a primer and the base color to the metal; on amphibious equipment a patina with salt and water marks, dust and mud works well.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
