This photo-etched brass set brings thin exterior parts for detailing a model of the American M4A1 Sherman tank in 1:35 scale. They replace heavy plastic sections and add fenders, grilles, brackets, tool clamps and other fine work. It is an accessory for more advanced modelers; the base kit and glue are not included.
The M4A1 Sherman was an American medium tank of the Second World War, characterized by its cast rounded hull (unlike the welded versions). The Sherman was the backbone of the Allied armored units and is one of the best known tanks of the war. The large smooth areas of the hull are rewarding subjects for photo-etched detailing.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and make the bends with a bending tool. Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Degrease the brass before painting and spray it with primer. Washes and light dry-brushing bring out the detail of the rivets and the joints.
This is a detail accessory, not a model. It requires a separately bought M4A1 Sherman kit in the matching scale. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
