An injection-molded plastic kit of the M113 Fitter recovery and repair vehicle in 1:35 scale from Academy. The Fitter is the repair version of the widespread M113 armored personnel carrier, fitted with a hydraulic crane on the hull roof and a counterweight on the opposite side. The set also suits a rendering of Israeli Army machines. Check the exact contents of the box against the instructions.
The M113 was the most widespread armored personnel carrier in the world and served in more than four dozen armies. The Fitter version is used for field repair and recovery: the crane lifts heavy components such as engines and transmissions right in the field. The vehicle thus accompanied armored units as essential support. Among its operators were the armies of Israel, Australia and Belgium.
Assemble the running gear and the lower hull before closing up the hull; pay attention to the crane and the counterweight, which give the vehicle its characteristic look. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Lay a primer. Israeli machines carried the typical gray-green Sinai Grey, while other armies used olive green. Suggest service wear, oil drips around the crane and dust and mud on the running gear with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
