An injection-molded plastic kit model of the American M1130 Stryker wheeled armored vehicle in the command version in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the 8x8 chassis and the characteristic angular hull; the M1130 command form differs from the infantry carrier in its command and control equipment, meaning additional antennas and communications gear.
The Stryker is a family of American 8x8 wheeled armored vehicles derived from a licensed design and used by light brigade combat teams. It is notable for its good strategic and tactical mobility, crew protection and modular construction, thanks to which it exists in many specialized versions. The M1130 Command Vehicle serves as a mobile command post: it carries extended communications and data equipment that lets commanders direct a unit from a protected vehicle in the field itself. The external marks of the version are additional antennas and modifications to the hull.
Paint the eight-wheel chassis before the side skirts cover it. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and sand the joints; line the fine antennas and communications elements up carefully. Apply an undercoat (primer) before painting. Apply the modern single-color or desert finish with an airbrush and lighten the upper surfaces slightly. Dust and mud on the large wheels and in the wheel arches are picked out by final washes and dry pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
