A set of replacement road wheels for models of the Israeli Merkava Mk.1 Hybrid, Mk.2 and Mk.2D tanks in 1:35. The wheels correspond to the pressed steel rendering and according to the marking of the item they have a corrected shape compared with the parts that the kits of the Takom company offer.
The Merkava is an Israeli main battle tank with the engine at the front and with the space for the crew in the rear part of the hull. The designation Hybrid denotes a transitional rendering between the first and the second series, while Mk.2D denotes the variant with add-on armor. Pressed steel wheels have their own profile of the disk, and because they are repeated along the chassis, their shape is clearly apparent on a model.
First try the wheels dry and check that the diameter, the axis and the depth of the seating on the mounting fit. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder carefully, so that the ring of bolts stays sharp. Wash and degrease the surfaces before painting. Paint them before fitting them to the chassis and before the tracks are drawn on, because in a finished assembly a brush reaches the wheels only with difficulty. The recommended glue and the exact procedure are in the manufacturer's instructions.
