This item is a photo-etched detail set for the interior of the Mi-24V helicopter in 1:35 scale, not a helicopter model. It serves to replace and complement the cockpit elements of a plastic kit, typically the instrument panels, consoles, levers, seat frames and safety belts. Check the exact contents of the package with the manufacturer before you buy. Sets of this kind are made by the Czech firm Eduard, which has long specialized in photo-etched parts.
The Mil Mi-24 is a heavy attack helicopter with a tandem crew cockpit and a cargo compartment in the rear of the fuselage, a combination that sets it apart from most other machines of its category. The Mi-24V version is marked by separate bubble canopies for the gunner in front and the pilot behind. The cockpit is richly equipped with instruments and is clearly visible when the canopies are open or a figure is seated, so a detail set really tells on a finished model. In 1:35 scale the helicopter is large, and plastic panels with suggested instruments look simplified over a big area.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a scalpel on a hard surface rather than by breaking them out. Make straight bends in a bending tool or over the edge of a steel ruler, and form curved shapes over a cylindrical tool. Carefully sand or cut away the original plastic detail that the set replaces, so that the new part seats flat. Use super glue applied with the tip of a toothpick; an excess is hard to remove from metal. Colored photo-etched parts only need to be seated, while bare ones should first be sprayed with a base color intended for metal. Finish the interior and try it dry before you close the fuselage, because after that the work cannot be undone.
This is an accessory for advanced modelers, not a standalone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
