Kelik 1:35 Mi-4 interior 3D decals are a set of three-dimensional decals for equipping the cockpit of a model of the Mi-4 helicopter in 1:35 scale. They take the place of laborious painting of the instruments and panels. Intended for the Trumpeter kit.

The set is intended to bring the cockpit of a model of the Mi-4 helicopter to life. Instead of flat decals these are three-dimensional, relief elements that are stuck straight onto the interior parts and give the instrument panels, the control panels and the side walls legible detail. The result suits above all where the doors or the windows stay open and there is a view into the interior. The set does not take the place of a kit, it supplements it. The decals are prepared for the Trumpeter kit.
The Mi-4 is a Soviet multirole helicopter of the nineteen fifties with a piston radial engine housed in the nose. Characteristic is the arrangement in which the pilot's cockpit sits high above a roomy cargo compartment with cargo doors in the rear. The machine served in transport, liaison and ambulance roles with a number of users and enjoyed a long operating career. Given the time of its origin, the cockpit has an austere instrument panel with round dials, which is exactly the type of detail that three-dimensional decals can capture.
The area the decal goes onto has to be smooth and coated with a gloss varnish. On a matte surface air gets trapped under the decal and silvering arises, that is a milky glossy edge. Release the decal in lukewarm water, transfer it into place and soak the surplus water away with a cloth or a cotton swab. Use a decal softener sparingly and preferably in several thin coats, as three-dimensional decals take less chemistry than thin classic sheets. Once it is dry, cover the interior with a matte varnish so that the gloss does not disturb, and lead any wash only into the corners and shadows.
This is an accessory set of decals, not a kit. The model, paints and varnishes are not included in the package unless stated otherwise.
