A photo-etched upgrade set for a model of the British FV510 Warrior infantry fighting vehicle in 1:35 scale, for the Academy 13201 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The FV510 Warrior is a British tracked infantry fighting vehicle introduced in the 1980s. The vehicle carries a squad of infantry and mounts a 30 mm cannon in a rotating turret. The real machine is full of thin sheet metal elements, grilles and mounts that can only be imitated in a simplified way on a plastic model, because a plastic part has to stay thicker for the sake of strength.
It is a photo-etched upgrade set in 1:35 scale intended for the Academy 13201 kit. The elements are produced by etching, so they have a scale thickness and sharp outlines. The extent of the parts and the recommended order of work are stated in the manufacturer's instructions; read them through before you cut anything on the model, because some of the modifications are done while the hull is still unassembled.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a firm surface, not with pliers, and sand down the remains of the tab. Lead the bends along the marked groove over a sharp edge or in a bending tool, slowly and in one stroke. The joints are held by cyanoacrylate glue applied in a small amount, best of all with the tip of a wire. Before painting, degrease the surfaces and go over them with a primer. Paint the fine grilles and mesh in thin coats, so that the openings do not clog up; they are the most valuable thing about the set.
The set is for modelers of modern British equipment who already have experience with photo-etched parts and want to take a model beyond the level of the basic kit. The model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
