Mottled camouflage with an outline and the markings of the Renault FT tank, 1:35 cover both the color fields separated by a dark line and the national insignia of the vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Renault FT wore one of the most conspicuous finishes that tracked equipment ever had: irregular color areas separated by a pronounced dark line. The set deals with both at once, that is, the blotches and the national insignia, and that sets it apart from sets that keep to only one of those two jobs.
The small French machine of 1917 came with a layout that is used to this day: the engine at the rear, the crew at the front and the armament in a fully rotating turret. More of it was built than of all the other tanks of the First World War put together, and it went on serving in dozens of armies even at the start of the Second World War. It was precisely on it that the period painting in irregular fields with a black outline established itself most strikingly.
Painting such a line by hand is a job for several evenings and the unevennesses show at first glance. With a mask you go about it the other way round: spray the whole model in the dark shade of the outline first, then apply the films and over them lay the individual colors of the fields. The dark line then arises by itself as the gap between the shapes. The small model has a lot of rounded surfaces, so warm the film with a hair dryer and press it down, so that it seats without creases.
The films are sold on their own, without paints and without a model of the tank.
