Cut films for the Octopus camouflage pattern, 1:35 draw wavy, interlocking bands that are not tied to a single type of vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
The tentacle-like curved bands the pattern is named after run across the whole surface and interlock with one another. Unlike most of this brand's range, the set has no particular machine in its name - it is a pattern sheet, not a cut for one hull.
A softly drawn wave works differently from angular, broken camouflage. Where sharp wedges cut the shape into areas, wavy bands pull the gaze across the machine and deliberately run over edges, hatches and superstructures. The eye then has more trouble finding the real edge of the vehicle. That is exactly why organic patterns appeared on equipment that operated in cover rather than on an open plain.
Being universal has a drawback: you have to work out the layout yourself. It is best to print or sketch the silhouette of the model from the side and from above and to think through where the waves will run, so that they carry over the turret and the hull. Hide the transition between two pieces of film in an engraved division or under the tools. Apply the paint in two passes, otherwise a visible ridge will form at the edges of the thick bands.
The delivery consists only of films, not of paints or a model.
