An injection molded plastic kit of the German Pak 97/38 anti-tank gun with figures of the crew in 1:35 scale from the Italeri brand. The package contains a detailed weapon with its carriage, four figures of the crew in poses at work on the gun and supplementary equipment including ammunition and small arms. It is a rewarding subject for dioramas as well as for a display case on its own.
The Pak 97/38 arose by fitting the barrel of the famous French 75 mm model 1897 gun onto the carriage of the Pak 38. In this way the German army made use of a large number of captured French guns and gained a quick and comparatively cheap solution for its anti-tank units, more effective than the obsolete 37 mm Pak 36, which was no longer adequate against modern Soviet tanks such as the KV-1 and the T-34.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic. Devote care to the figures when cleaning up the parting seams and when painting the faces and uniforms. The gun will stand out once coated with an airbrush, with washes to follow and dust and mud suggested with pigments. The set suits a smaller diorama with matching terrain.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
