Panther Ausf.G early Zimmerit Horizontal 1:35 is a photo-etched metal set from Eduard that imitates the horizontal texture of the Zimmerit coating faithfully on a Panther model.

It is not a model of a tank but a photo-etched metal detail accessory from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. Thin etched sheets with a horizontally engraved texture imitate Zimmerit, the antimagnetic paste that German vehicles received as protection against magnetic mines sticking to them. The set is intended for models of the Panther Ausf.G medium tank of the early pattern in 1:35 scale.
Zimmerit was applied to Panthers in characteristic patterns; this set represents the horizontal version of the texture. The photo-etched parts follow the shape of the armor surfaces of the hull and the turret, so that once glued on they form a continuous relief with no need to build the texture up laboriously with filler.
Clean and degrease the surfaces of the model, attach the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) and press them down carefully so that they seat into the edges. The transitions and any gaps can be fine-tuned with a small amount of filler. Once primer has been sprayed on, the relief of the Zimmerit comes out during painting and weathering.
This is a detail accessory, not a stand-alone model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
