A set of photo-etched grilles in 1:35 scale from Tamiya. It is not a kit but an accessory that replaces the solid plastic grilles over the engine compartment with more convincing photo-etched parts. The fine perforation allows a view into the interior of the hull and markedly increases the realism.
The Panther Ausf. D was the first production version of the German Panther medium tank of the Second World War. On the upper surface of the rear hull it had the cooling and ventilation grilles of the engine compartment, which are a prominent visual feature on a model.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife, seat them dry and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) in small drops. Degrease the photo-etched sheet before painting and apply a primer. Bring out the recesses of the grilles with a dark wash for an effect of depth.
This is a set of photo-etched detail parts, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
