The German Panzer IV Ausf.H/J medium tank in 1:35 scale: a plastic kit with the option of building the H or the J variant.
Responsibility details are not available.
This plastic kit in 1:35 scale captures the German Panzer IV medium tank in its late H and J versions. The package allows the vehicle to be built with or without side armor skirts and the hatches to be opened or closed. Tools, spare road wheels, jerrycans and a figure are also included, so the model can be rounded out with small scenic elements. Various parts correspond to different sub-versions, so before building it pays to read the instructions through carefully.
The Panzer IV was the most numerously built German tank of the Second World War and went through a series of improvements during the conflict. The late H and J versions were given a long gun of 75 mm caliber, heavier frontal armor and side armor skirts against shaped-charge and anti-tank fire. The H version carried an anti-magnetic coating on its vertical surfaces against magnetic mines. The Panzer IV fought on every front until the end of the war and was the mainstay of the German armored units.
With an armored vehicle, assemble and paint the running gear before closing the hull. If you want to imitate the anti-magnetic coating, reckon with texturing the vertical surfaces, for which the enclosed items can also be used. Apply the base finish with an airbrush over primer; lightening the upper surfaces and dark washes into the recesses work well. The side skirts and the edges fairly invite paint chipping, and you will bring out the dust and mud from the running gear with pigments. A three-color camouflage will enliven the overall look.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
