Star Decals 1:35 Panzerjäger Marder II. SdKfz 132. Eastern front brings markings for the German self-propelled anti-tank asset deployed on the Eastern Front.
Responsibility details are not available.
These Star Decals in 1:35 scale carry the markings of the German self-propelled Panzerjäger Marder II tank destroyer, carried under the designation SdKfz 132, in the fighting on the Eastern Front. The package brings markings for a finished model, not plastic parts or a whole model.
The designation SdKfz 132 belonged to the version of the Marder II that carried a reworked Soviet 7.62 cm gun captured in the first year of the fighting in the east. The German side adapted it for their own ammunition and set it on the chassis of a light tank. The result was a tall, open-topped machine with thin armor, which was able to hit even well protected targets but could not afford to get into a direct duel. The vehicles served with Panzerjäger detachments and their role was defensive: to wait under cover, fire at long range and change position at once.
The main areas for markings are the tall front plate and the sloping sides of the superstructure. On a slope it is better to seat a decal in parts and hold it until it takes hold, otherwise it will slide down. Level the area with a gloss varnish before applying it, matte the surface down once it has dried, and only at the end build up the dust and mud, so that the markings look like part of the vehicle and not like a sticker on it.
