A plastic kit of the German Pz.Kpfw.II light tank in 1:35 scale, in one of its early production forms. A small machine with an automatic cannon and a crew of three men.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Pz.Kpfw.II was a German light tank that was originally meant to serve mainly for training and for filling out the inventory until enough heavier machines were available. Reality, however, sent it into the front line: in the Polish and French campaigns it made up a substantial part of the German armored units and only later did it move to reconnaissance tasks. The crew consisted of three men and the machine stayed small throughout, with a low hull and a small turret.
The main weapon was a 2 cm automatic cannon supplemented by a machine gun in the turret. Against the armored vehicles of an opponent that was enough only for light targets, but against infantry and unprotected vehicles it was an effective combination with a high rate of fire. The early production series differ from the later machines mainly in the running gear: the first vehicles stood on small wheels carried by a common girder, and only the later standard received five larger independently sprung wheels on each side.
Before gluing, rid the parts of surplus material and of the marks of production, sand the mating surfaces and try the assembly dry. The small running gear will demand patience, so spray it away from the model. Wash and degrease the model before painting.
Paints, glue, putty and add-on sets are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
