A resin wheel set in 1:35 scale for a model of the Canadian Otter light reconnaissance armored car. The castings carry the tread of Firestone tires. It is not a vehicle kit, but an accessory with which you swap the plastic wheels on a model for castings with a deeper and sharper rendering of the tread and of the sidewall of the tire.
The Otter Light Reconnaissance Car was a Canadian light armored car built on the chassis of a military truck. It served Commonwealth units for reconnaissance, liaison and patrol duty, and its tall angular hull was made of bent armor plate. The vehicle stood on large off-road tires, because it was meant for muddy and stony ground as well.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent and remove the mold release agent. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw, true the cut with a file and protect your airways while sanding. Resin is bonded with super glue, that is, with cyanoacrylate. Before fitting the wheels, check the diameter of the stub on the axle. You can sand the bottom of the tire lightly into a flat, so that the vehicle settles on the base as if loaded, and finally pick up dust and mud in the tread.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
