A resin wheel set in 1:35 scale for a model of the German Horch off-road car. It is not a kit, but a replacement for the parts, with which you swap the plastic wheels on a model. The castings have a sharply rendered tread and raised detail on both the sidewall of the tire and the rim, that is, details that reach an injection mold only with difficulty. The Commercial designation refers to the civilian tread pattern, which appeared on these cars alongside the off-road tread.
Horch supplied the Wehrmacht with heavy and medium off-road cars of a uniform design, which served as staff, liaison and reconnaissance vehicles. They were rugged machines with all-wheel drive, an open body and a large suspension travel, used on every front. The tires differed during the war according to the supplier and to what was available, so swapping the wheels is one of the most striking changes to the look of a model.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent and remove the mold release agent. Cut off the casting blocks with a saw, true the cut with a file and protect your airways while doing so. Resin is bonded with super glue, that is, with cyanoacrylate. Before fitting the wheels, check the diameter of the stub on the axle. You can sand the lower part of the tire lightly into a flat, so that the car settles on the base as if loaded. The rubber looks better in a dark gray shade than in pure black.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
