Improvised protection of sandbags for the Italian armored car AB 41 and AB 43 in 1:35 scale will give a model a frontline look without lengthy shaping of putty.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set by Pimp My Miniatures brings ready-made improvised protection, shaped directly to the contours of the Italian armored car of the AB 41 and AB 43 series, in 1:35 scale. It saves the work of modeling the individual bags out of modeling putty and offers a more convincing sag to the cloth.
The Autoblinda was developed by Fiat and Ansaldo together with a chassis by SPA, and its most conspicuous feature was two driving positions, front and rear. The vehicle could therefore reverse at full speed, which was priceless in narrow streets and on mountain roads. The turret was derived from a light tank and carried a 20 mm Breda automatic cannon with a coaxial machine gun, and a further machine gun pointed to the rear from the hull. The vehicle weighed around seven and a half tons and on the road managed almost eighty kilometers per hour. It served in North Africa, in the Balkans, on the Eastern Front and in Italy itself.
Sacking has a matte, slightly grainy surface. Spray the base in a sandy shade, then vary the individual pieces slightly into warmer and grayer tones, so that the field does not look monotonous. Bring the seams out with a dark wash and run a dry brush lightly over the edges instead.
So you obtain the protection separately from the vehicle it belongs on.
