The Kraken stationary electronic warfare device

The model captures a firmly built electronic warfare device with an array of antennas on a supporting structure. It is not a vehicle and not a weapon, but a technical object that fills the role of a protected post in a diorama. The manufacturer also offers a version for mounting on a car separately; what is modeled here is the standing variant. The printing is done in photopolymer resin in Ukraine.

What such a device does

Devices of this category jam the radio link between an unmanned vehicle and its operator. The antenna array radiates on several bands at once and creates a kind of dome around the protected place, inside which a drone loses control and its video link alike. It is precisely against small attack machines that this defense is used most today, because shooting them down with conventional fire is costly and unreliable. They are deployed at command posts, stores and workshops.

Placing it in the scene

The antenna elements are thin, so handle them carefully and glue them on only after the supporting part has been painted. Credibility is helped if you place the object not in the middle of an open area but by a building, by a camouflage net or behind an earth bank. Cabling added from thin wire turns the model into a whole that looks as though it works.
