The Sd.Kfz. 250 was a light German half-track armored personnel carrier of the Second World War. At the rear it is carried by a tracked chassis, at the front by an ordinary steered axle. The road wheels of the tracked chassis are arranged overlapping on these light half-tracks, so the outer row covers the inner one. From the side the wheels form a continuous wall and their shape marks the overall impression of a model more than most small accessories.
It is a replacement for the road wheels, carried in the name as a corrected rendering for Takom kits. The aim is therefore the shape, not merely a different surface: the set replaces the parts from the kit and brings the rendering designated as type 1. Because the wheels are repeated on the model along the whole length of the chassis, the exchange shows on both sides at once and is visible even from a distance.
Fit the new wheels dry before you start gluing anything, and check the spacing and the distance between axes against the parts of the chassis. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder down. Wash and degrease the wheels before painting, choose the glue according to the material given on the package and leave the exact procedure to the manufacturer's instructions. Painting is easier before they are fitted: go over the rubber tires with dark gray, leave the center in the vehicle color and bring out the gaps between the wheels with a dark wash, because once they are fitted you will reach them only with difficulty.
What is supplied is the wheels alone. The vehicle kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
