The Sd.Kfz. 251 was a German half-track armored personnel carrier of the Second World War. At the front it had a steered wheeled axle, at the rear a tracked chassis with the road wheels arranged over one another. It is this overlapping running gear that is the most conspicuous part of the chassis on a model, and a discrepancy in the profile of the disk or in the width of the rubber tire is seen on it at once, because the fault is repeated on every wheel.
First try the wheels dry and check the diameter, the axis and the depth of the seating on the mountings. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little way from the part and sand the remainder carefully. Wash and degrease the surfaces before painting. With an overlapping running gear it pays to paint the wheels separately and fit them only afterward, because in a finished assembly the inner wheels stay inaccessible to a brush. Run the transition between the disk and the rubber tire with a thin brush or by masking. The recommended glue and the exact procedure are in the manufacturer's instructions.
