About product

Eduard 1:35 Sd.Kfz.232 (6-Rad) photo-etched parts

A set of photo-etched parts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:35 scale. It is not a standalone model but a detail accessory for a plastic model of the German Sd.Kfz.232 heavy armored car in the six-wheeled version. Etched sheet allows the faithful rendering of grilles, grab handles and other thin features.

The real subject

The Sd.Kfz.232 (6-Rad) was a German heavy armored reconnaissance car on a six-wheeled chassis, used in the early part of the Second World War. The radio version carried the characteristic frame antenna above the body and served for long-range reconnaissance and communication.

Building tips

The etched parts are separated with a sharp knife, bent over a metal ruler or a bending tool and bonded with super glue. Degrease the sheet before painting and lay down a primer. For weathering, washes and pigments that pick out dust and mud effects come in handy.

Who the set is for

  • modelers building the Sd.Kfz.232 (6-Rad) in 1:35 scale
  • anyone after a higher level of detail than bare plastic offers
  • more experienced modelers working with etched sheet

This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.

FAQ

No. It is a set of photo-etched parts that completes a plastic model of the Sd.Kfz.232 armored car in the six-wheeled version. The base kit has to be had separately.

It denotes the six-wheeled version of the real vehicle, that is a chassis with three axles. The set is intended for exactly this variant.

Super glue is best. The parts are degreased before gluing and folded over a ruler or a bending tool where the bends are.
