A resin set of replacement wheels from DEF Model for the model of the South African Rooikat armored vehicle in 1:35 scale. The wheels have realistically bulged (weighted) tires that imitate a heavy vehicle settling onto the ground. It is not a kit of the vehicle but a detail add-on that replaces the wheels of the base model and markedly raises its realism. The set is designed for the Trumpeter kit.
The Rooikat is a South African wheeled armored reconnaissance and fighting vehicle with an 8x8 layout, armed with a cannon. It came about in the 1980s for operations in demanding African terrain and is notable for its high mobility and its toughness. The weight of the vehicle pressing down on the massive tires is a conspicuous, eye-catching detail on a model.
Wash the mold release residue off the resin wheels and separate them from the casting blocks. Sets of this type usually also hold ready-made masks for easy spraying of the tires and the rims without paint running over. Fit the wheels so that the bulged part of the tire sits correctly on the ground; weathering with dust and mud works well.
An add-on set in resin; it is not a complete model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
