Replacement engine exhaust nozzles for a model of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat in 1:72 scale, in both the open and the closed form.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Grumman F-14A Tomcat is an American twin-engine carrier fighter with a variable-sweep wing. The exhaust nozzles of the two engines make up the whole rear outline of the machine and their diameter changes with the engine setting, so in photographs of the same aircraft they appear now wide open and now drawn together. It is by them that you can tell whether a model matches the scene chosen.
Replacement exhaust nozzles for a model of the F-14A in 1:72 scale. According to the name the set offers both forms, open and closed, so you choose the one that matches the state of the machine you want to show. Base the choice on photographs of the particular example and situation, because membership of the set itself does not prescribe which form is correct. Replacement nozzles tend to be deeper and thinner-walled than the parts of a kit, and so looking into their depths does not end at a blind wall.
Test the parts dry on the rear of the fuselage first and check that they join without a step. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down, so that the mating surface stays flat. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Super glue proves itself for gluing. Apply metallic shades in thin coats and grade them, so that the difference between the outer shell and the inside of a nozzle is apparent.
A kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
