A set of forged rims in the BBS FI-R style for 1:24 scale, cut for the Toyota GR Supra kits from Tamiya.
Responsibility details are not available.
Forged wheels differ from cast ones in that the material is shaped under pressure, and they therefore take thinner spokes at the same strength. With the pattern the set comes from, that is apparent at first glance: narrow spokes running out as far as the edge of the rim, a deep dish and an exposed mounting. On a model this shape immediately gives away that the car is not standing on production wheels.
The reference in the name points to two particular kit numbers from the Tamiya range. Both belong to the Toyota GR Supra model in 1:24 scale, in the basic and in the modified form. The dimensions of the hub and the axle are designed for these moldings, and with another maker count on modification.
First try the wheel on dry and check whether it seats into the tire from the kit. Leave the surface smooth, with no polishing for its own sake, because a forged look comes rather from an even coat than from a shine. A dark shadow in the hollows between the spokes will create the depth that silver paint alone does not give. It pays to finish the brake disc behind the wheels before the rims go on, because afterward a brush will no longer reach it.
Among car builders it holds that changing the wheels alters the character of a car more than any other intervention. Production discs out of the mold tend to be simplified, with thick spokes and an indistinct dish. As soon as a more accurate part replaces them, the other details of the model suddenly look cleaner, without anything on them being changed at all.
