An injection-molded plastic kit from the Chinese manufacturer Trumpeter in 1:35 scale. The subject is the Soviet heavy self-propelled howitzer 2A3 Kondensator 2P, armed with a gun of 406 mm caliber. The package holds plastic parts for the hull, the massive gun and the running gear, meant to be assembled and painted.
The 2A3 Kondensator 2P was an experimental Soviet heavy self-propelled howitzer of the 1950s, which came about in the early Cold War as a carrier for artillery of very large caliber. The vehicle was built on a lengthened tank chassis and became known for its considerable size and its massive gun. Only a small number were built and the machine remained rather a demonstration of what heavy artillery could do at the time.
First assemble and if need be paint the running gear and the lower hull, before you close the upper parts up. The tracks and the road wheels are among the striking features, so give them your attention. Spray the vehicle with an airbrush in a single shade and finish with a wash and pigments for dust and mud effects, which will emphasize the bulk of the structure.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
