A resin set of figures in 1:35 from the figure line of the maker PANZER ART. The word set means that the package contains more figures of the same subject. The set is made as an add-on to a diorama or a vehicle model; it is not a kit of equipment. The manufacturer also offers single figures with a sequence number under the same subject.
Casting into silicone molds allows a finer rendering of the folds of the clothing, the straps and the faces than injection-molded plastic achieves. The figures tend to be split into a torso, a head and arms; on figures the parting lines are led so that a collar, a belt or equipment hides them once glued. Resin is hard and brittle, it takes fine sanding but not bending.
Before building, wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that the mold release agent is floated off. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the surfaces with a file and fine sandpaper, with your airways protected. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue, and fill micro-gaps between the head and the torso with filler and sand them. Apply a primer and only then paint. On a multi-figure set it pays to paint the figures separately and to set them into a scene only once they are finished, or it is harder to get a brush between them. Lay the base tone on across the whole surface, add a lighter transition on the crests of the folds and a darker wash into the recesses. Set the small accessories and the equipment apart not only by shade but above all by degree of gloss. Finish the faces with oil paints, which allow a soft blend. Bring the whole group together with a matte clear coat at the end, so that the figures look like part of one scene.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
