A plastic kit of the towed D-20 artillery system of 152 mm caliber in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. This is not a vehicle but a towed gun: the kit holds a multi-part barrel with a muzzle brake, a well-worked breech, a carriage with spreading arms and trail spades, sighting mechanisms, tools, ammunition and photo-etched parts. The model can be built in the travel position as well as the firing position, and the elevation and traverse both move.
The D-20 is a Soviet gun-howitzer of 152 mm caliber, which from the 1950s replaced older systems of the Second World War period. It combines the qualities of a howitzer and a gun: it can fire at high angles and directly. It was committed in a number of conflicts of the second half of the 20th century and became the basis for a whole family of derived weapons.
Pay attention to assembling the carriage and the trail spades, so that the gun stands correctly in the firing position. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The model will stand out in Soviet green with a wash into the recesses and pigments on the lower part for dust and mud effects; the rubber tires on the wheels can be weathered separately.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
