A set of figures cast from modeling resin in 1:35 scale, that is in the scale usual for models of armored vehicles. The set contains three figures of members of a tank crew in dress corresponding to the period 1939 to 1943 and is intended to liven up a diorama or to complete a displayed model of a vehicle. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and the manufacturer is Evolution Miniatures.
A resin casting delivers detail that injection-molded plastic does not reach — the folds of the overalls, the straps of the equipment and the features of the faces are modeled more crisply. The figures are divided into several parts joined to casting blocks and the surface carries residues of mold release agent, so preparation is needed before building.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife, never break them off with nippers — resin is brittle. Sand the cuts, do not inhale the dust and work with respiratory protection, ideally wet. Glue exclusively with cyanoacrylate glue, as solvent cements for plastic do not work here. Fill the seams between the torso and the limbs and sand them down, as with figures it is exactly this step that shows most. After priming, build the paint up in thin coats: the skin from a darker base toward lighter areas, the overalls evened out with a base shade and only then a wash in the folds and a dry brush on the edges. If you are building the set for a vehicle, try the seating of the figures in the hatches as you go, before gluing.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as resin castings. Glue, paints, a model of a vehicle and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. It is not intended for children under 14 years.
