The base 1:35 Sowjetisches / Osteuropaisches Flugfeld Limitiert from the Das Werk brand will create the surface of an Eastern European airfield under a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A printed base intended to go under a model or under figures, which depicts the surface of a Soviet, or rather Eastern European, airfield. The name is German, because Das Werk is a German brand; in translation it is a Soviet and Eastern European airfield in a limited edition. The base suits a helicopter, aircraft equipment and ground vehicles of the servicing crew alike.
The airfields of the Eastern Bloc stood on prefabricated concrete slabs laid side by side. The joints between them became overgrown with grass in time, oil and fuel soaked into the surface, and the traces of tires and tracks drew dark paths on the light concrete. It is precisely this combination of a regular grid and untidiness that makes a scene believable. The slabs were laid quickly, often even outside paved areas, so right beside them earth and low growth began.
The best result comes from a base laid on a flat board, so that it does not curl. A pinch of pigment around the wheels will help to soften the transition between the model and the surface, or small grass glued into the joints. When photographing, choose soft side light, which will draw out the grid of the slabs.
The base is a finished product; models and figures are not supplied with it.
