An injection-molded plastic kit of a modern wheeled vehicle in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter. The subject is the Spanish version of the Italian Centauro wheeled tank destroyer, in which the hull is lengthened and fitted with add-on armor. The box holds parts in gray plastic, copper wire, a photo-etched fret and rubber tires for the wheeled chassis.
The Centauro is a wheeled combat vehicle (8x8) fitted with a 105 mm gun in a turret, which joins firepower close to that of a tank with the high mobility and speed of a wheeled chassis on made-up roads. The Spanish army operates the modified VRC-105 variant with a lengthened hull, add-on bolted armor on the nose, reworked external fittings, relocated smoke grenade launchers and its own radios and antennas. The vehicle is used for reconnaissance and for rapid anti-tank support, while giving the crew protection against 12.7 mm fire from all directions.
On a wheeled vehicle, give attention to clean assembly of the chassis and the axles, so that the model stands straight on all its wheels. Fit the tires only after painting, and dusting can be suggested on them with pigments. A primer, an airbrush and liquid cement for plastic all suit the build; glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate and use the copper wire for convincing tow and connecting fittings. Bring the Spanish scheme to life with washes in the recesses and by picking out the edges and rivets lightly with a dry brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
