Photo-etched stowage holder for the M2 or M3 half-track (1:35, Voyager Model)

A brass photo-etched set from Voyager Model in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of the vehicle but a pack of thin brass parts with which you add holders and brackets for equipment to a model of the American M2 or M3 half-track. Thin photo-etched parts look truer than coarser plastic items. The manufacturer prepared it for the Dragon kit.

The real subject

The American M2 and M3 half-tracks were widely used in the Second World War to carry troops and as tractors and weapon carriers. They had a wheeled axle at the front and tracked running gear at the rear. On the sides and inside they carried a range of holders for equipment, weapons and ammunition.

Building and painting tips

Separate the brass parts with a sharp knife on a hard mat and bend them in a photo-etch bender or along a ruler. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a base coat suitable for metal before painting; equipment can be added to the holders to liven the model up.
