A photo-etched set in 1:35 scale for the model of the German StuG III Ausf.G assault gun. The metal parts replace details that come out too thick in plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The StuG III Ausf.G was the most numerously produced version of the German assault gun built on the chassis of the Pz.Kpfw.III tank. Instead of a rotating turret it carried a 7.5 cm gun with a barrel length of 48 calibers (L/48) in a low armored superstructure, which gave it a small silhouette and a good ability to hide in the terrain. Originally an infantry support weapon, in the second half of the war it thus became one of the main anti-tank weapons and stayed in the units until the end of the fighting. For a modeler it is a rewarding subject because of the amount of small equipment on the sides of the superstructure.
A set of photo-etched metal parts for a model in 1:35 scale. Etch suits exactly the thin sheets, grilles and tool clamps, that is, the places where an injection-molded part comes out disproportionately thick. The scope of the set and the kit it is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts off with a sharp blade against a hard surface and make the bends over a bender or over the jaws of flat tweezers. Check longer straight sheets against a ruler after bending, because metal holds its shape and a part once twisted cannot be straightened again on the model. Metal holds on cyanoacrylate glue, and for long joints a slower epoxy is useful. Before painting, wash the sheet, degrease it and apply a base coat for metal. Make artistic use of the thin sheet as well: a slightly bent fender or a peeled-back sheet looks more convincing on a vehicle from the front than a perfectly flat surface.
Paints, glue and modeling tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
