Eduard 1:35 SU-76M fenders is a photo-etched set of fenders for a model of the Soviet SU-76M self-propelled gun. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model of the vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is aimed at the fenders of a model of the Soviet SU-76M self-propelled gun in 1:35 scale. The plastic fenders out of the box tend, for technological reasons, to be several times thicker than reality; thin metal photo-etched parts replace them and the model immediately gains the right proportions. The set does not contain the kit of the vehicle; it is an accessory for a model you have already bought.
The SU-76M was a light Soviet self-propelled gun on the lengthened chassis of the T-70 tank, armed with the divisional ZiS-3 gun of 76.2 mm caliber. It was produced in large numbers and accompanied infantry on practically every sector of the eastern front. The fenders of this equipment were of thin sheet, often bent or torn off in service, and that is exactly what can be captured far better on a model with metal parts than in plastic.
Cut the original plastic fenders off and sand the surface carefully, so that the new part seats. Dry-fit the photo-etched part first, make the bends in a bender and form more complex shapes gradually rather than in one pass. Dose the glue with a toothpick drop by drop; on long parts it helps to fix the ends first and only then to go along the whole length of the joint. Degrease the metal before painting and spray it with primer.
The set is an accessory for a model and does not contain the kit itself.
