1:35 Sunflowers

Sunflowers 1:35 for dioramas

This scenic accessory from RT-Diorama in 1:35 scale represents sunflowers, a plant that gives a scene its season and its geographical setting at once. Vegetation is the element in a diorama that most decides whether a scene reads as a view or as a model on a board - and a field of sunflowers is one of the strongest subjects that can be set up behind vehicles or figures. The exact package contents are stated on the box.

What the accessory suits

• Field and rural scenes in 1:35 scale with vehicles and figures.
• Gardens, field boundaries and roadsides by buildings in a diorama.
• Covering the transition between the terrain and the edge of the base.
• Adding a note of color to an otherwise earthy scene.

Tips for placing it in the scene

Try the layout out dry first and look at the scene from the eye level of a viewer rather than from above - only then will you see what is going to show. Do not plant the plants in a regular grid; slightly irregular spacing and different angles of the stems look natural. Set the vegetation in only once the basic terrain work is finished, or you will damage it while working further. Tune the colors so that the plants are not noticeably more saturated than their surroundings; the scene then holds together. It is also useful to leave a few plants leaning or trodden down where vehicles have passed.

Who the accessory is for

It is for makers of dioramas in 1:35 scale who build rural and field scenes, and for modelers who want to create a setting around a finished vehicle or group of figures rather than just a base.
