What the set is for

The very earliest production form of the Tiger I differs from the later ones in a number of small points: the layout of the tools and their brackets on the hull, the form of the fenders, the covers and the grilles over the engine compartment, and details on the turret. It is precisely these elements that tend to be simplified in injection-molded plastic, because they cannot be made at the corresponding thickness. An accessory set replaces them with finer parts. Because it is tied to a particular production period, check before buying that your base model matches the same form; a set for the early vehicles will not fit a later version.

Usage tips

Work in units and never remove the original plastic elements before you have checked dry that the replacement part seats. Bend thin sheet on a bending tool, and on long parts mark the bend beforehand with a blunt blade. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pin, otherwise it runs onto a visible surface and shows up as a glossy patch once painted. Finish the assembly before painting and spray the whole model with a primer. Vehicles of the early form are rewarding for patina: a wash into the recesses, dust on the lower parts and discreet worn places on the edges of the tool brackets.
