A photo-etched set in 1:35 scale for a model of the Tiger I heavy tank of the mid-production batch. Thin metal parts replace the coarser shapes from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Tiger I was a German heavy tank of the Second World War, armed with an 88 mm gun and protected by armor that was exceptionally thick for its time. It was built in several successive stages, and the machines from them differ from one another in a number of details, among other things in the form of the commander's cupola and in the equipment carried on the hull. The mid-production batch lies between the early and the late vehicles, and that is exactly why accessories for the Tiger are divided by production stage.
The set contains photo-etched metal parts in 1:35 scale intended for a model of the tank in its mid-production form. The parts list and their positions on the model are described in the manufacturer's instructions. On armored vehicles photo-etch pays off where the real part is made of thin sheet and a plastic molding is bound to look thicker than it should. The set therefore aims at the places where the difference in thickness shows at first glance.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, then level the remaining tabs with a fine file. Make the bends over the edge of a ruler or in a photo-etch bender in one pull. They are glued with a minute amount of cyanoacrylate glue; a larger drop wicks across the surface and leaves matte marks. Wash, degrease and prime the metal before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold and will peel off at the slightest rub.
The set is for modelers who are building a Tiger deliberately in one particular production stage and want details that match the real subject. The kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
