This is not a tank model but a detail accessory. It is a set of fine photo-etched parts for a model of the Japanese Type 4 Chi-To medium tank in 1:35 scale from the Japanese maker FineMolds. The photo-etched parts replace thicker plastic elements with thin metal ones and give the model a fineness that plastic cannot reach.
The Type 4 Chi-To was a Japanese medium tank from the end of the Second World War, conceived as a more capable successor to the older Chi-Nu. It had heavier armor and a more powerful gun, yet it remained at the stage of a few prototypes and never reached series production. The detail features of the hull and the turret are exactly what photo-etched parts can refine on a model.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and bend them exactly along the etched lines, ideally in a photo-etch bending tool. Cyanoacrylate (super glue) suits gluing metal to plastic. Apply a primer for metal before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly on the smooth etching. The fine surfaces come out well after a wash and light weathering.
This is an accessory, not a stand-alone model. The tank itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
