The set holds castings in casting resin from which you will build a figure of an officer of the special forces of the American army in 1:35 scale. It is not a model of equipment but a figure accessory for a diorama scene or for display on its own in a display case. In modeling practice, figures of special forces differ from ordinary infantry in a different composition of kit and a freer approach to dress, which makes them an interesting feature of a composition.
The figure belongs to a wider range focused on American units in Southeast Asia, which Bravo 6 has worked up in a uniform sculptural style and in one scale. The sets can therefore be combined into a shared scene. Figure sets of this type are supplied divided into several castings, typically torso, head, limbs and carried equipment, so that the folds of the cloth and the small kit stand out. Resin holds sharper edges and a finer surface texture than injection-molded plastic.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with detergent, so that the release agent from the mold is removed, or the paint will hold badly. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a sharp cutter, level the surfaces with abrasive paper and protect your airways while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate super glue; cement for plastic has no effect on resin. Paint over a primer. Build the skin up in thin coats of oils or acrylics, keep the dress in the olive green and khaki shades of tropical field equipment and set the leather as well as the metal parts apart with a semi-matte finish. A dark wash will pick the folds out and a fine dry brush will pull the edges and the wear out.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
